Georgetown Football: New Uniforms In 2016

Aug 15, 2016

For many seasons, the Hoyas' uniforms have been one step behind their Patriot League brethren. A new look greets the team heading into 2016.

Beginning in 2013, a new road look (white jersey) was debuted, but for reasons never disclosed, the Hoyas did not wear a comparable style at home, relying on the previous version from 2012:

In 2015, the home (blue) jersey was changed, but the road look was still different:

The new look matches the designs for road and away, with an assortment of three pant colors for use when facing different teams (some coaches prefer to wear contrasting pants against an opponent for film purposes). The designs were presented earlier this month:

Alternate Helmet

For the first time since 1950, Georgetown debuted a blue helmet in 2015 as an alternate helmet, soon becoming a sign of respect to injured LB Ty Williams. The original design was to be an all-blue helmet, but following Williams' injury, the team debuted the number 2 on the helmets all season:

For 2016, an alternate helmet with the Hoyas' bulldog logo will replace the 2015 design:
